Posture Improvement for Pain Relief

Focussing on your posture, how you use and hold your body can bring huge benefits every day, in particular keeping pain at bay but also keeping muscles, tendons and ligaments in good shape. In this example just thinking about sitting up through your ribs and hips to lengthen the spine, softening the shoulders and tucking an imaginary apple under the chin can make an immediate impact.

Notice how the spine disappears to sit where it should between the spinal muscles which are now presented either side of the spine

Notice how the shoulders are far less sounded and you can see the scapula (shoulder blades) clearly

Notice how the buttock muscles are more rounded and you can clearly see the base of the spine beautifully lengthened and no longer compressed by the weight of the upper body

Notice the beautiful length of the neck and how the head sits more centrally on the top of the spine reducing weight through the neck and upper spine
